Peter Kutin works with sound across genres.
His live-performances or installations hold a physical and psychological impact that throws you as much off balance as it will embrace you. His works have been exhibited, commissioned, performed or screened at various occasions and venues across the globe. For the composition
Desert Bloom, a cooperation with the German composer and pioneer of sound-art Christina Kubisch & his long time collaborator Florian Kindlinger, the trio received the Karl Szucka award in 2016. In 2019 his kinetic instrument Torso received the golden Nica at the Ars Electronica festival.
Kutin has written and developed music / sonic-environments for film, theatre, performance, contemporary dance and radio plays. Besides that he directed experimental short-films and wrote or composed works for radio. His collaboration list includes artists from different fields, also
beyond art, ranging from experimental physics to investigative journalism.
He is a founding member of the label Ventil-Records, Velak (platform for experimental music) and is a co-organiser of the RealDeal Festival.
